Please read the following information if you have questions relating to Parc Eglos School becoming an academy. If you have any further queries please contact us. Many thanks.

Update, 3rd March 2017:

As you are aware, the opening of the Multi-Academy Trust was postponed to allow us some additional time to obtain further assurances around financial details from Cornwall Council. This work is nearing completion but, as we are still awaiting one final paper, will not be completed in time for the proposed start date of 1st April 2017. In order to ensure all the processes can be finalised, it has therefore been decided to defer the opening date till 1st June 2017.

Documents relating to the further period of formal consultation, 26th September to 14th October:

Update, 7th July 2016:

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Parc Eglos School,

Southerly Point Cooperative Multi Academy Trust Update

The consultation period for the proposed Multi Academy Trust draws to a close on July 15th. If you have not responded and would like to express your views, please do email me – Karen Teague, Trust Administrator, at - stating the school you are associated with. I will be collating the responses and forwarding them to governing bodies for their consideration as part of the consultation process. The slides used in the consultation meetings are available on school websites. Please note these have been updated to provide further information asked for in the first of the consultation meetings.

The responses we have received so far, both in the various meetings and by email, are helping to shape the proposed model further. In the light of feedback received in the consultation meetings, the governor / headteacher working party is revisiting the proposed governance structure and scheme of delegation to try to achieve a flatter structure with less tiers whilst maintaining local representation at the trustee committee level. The recommendations will then be considered by governing bodies. Early next term, the draft Scheme of Delegation and the draft Articles of Association documents will be made available to you on school websites. (These documents provide a legal framework for the proposed Multi-Academy Trust and explain who will be responsible for what.) There will then be a further period of consultation in September. A summary of the views expressed and the governors’ consideration of these will be published at the close of the consultation period.

Kind regards,

Karen Teague

Cooperative Trust Administrator
